Traveller Guide to Insurance, Health and SafetyTravel InsuranceMonash University takes out a general insurance cover that extend to providing cover to staff and postgraduate research students whilst travelling on international trips. Section 4 of the Staff International Travel Policy provides details about the University's insurance program. Staff and postgraduate research students are required to register details of their trip by completing the online registration form at the Insurance Services website. Staff and postgraduate research students should be aware that for some regions/countries, insurance cover is only available on a case-by-case basis and is subject to application to the University's insurer. In this regard, the Insurance Services office will monitor Flightlock to detect bookings to the regions/countries of concern. Should you book your travel and receive a message from Flightlock, then you are obliged to contact the Insurance Services office promptly. Health and SafetyMonash University is guided by the general travel warnings issued by the Commonwealth Government's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade ( DFAT ). All staff and postgraduate students contemplating international travel are advised to review the DFAT warnings before making travel bookings. Flightlock Traveller Locator SystemFlightlock is a traveller locator/tracker system deployed by Monash University to monitor trips by Monash staff. It facilitates automated contact with staff to provide pre-trip advice and, importantly, can be used to contact staff and students, via email, when incidents may affect travellers. |
