Serko Self-Teaching Tutorial (online interactive
training tutorial)
Serko have developed a comprehensive,
online self-teaching tutorial that has 17 modules that can be accessed
individually and run at your own pace. Although the material presented
is in generic format and not tailored to Monash University, the training
material sufficiently emulates the Monash Serko set-up to be of value
as a self help training tool.

Hints on using the Serko Self-Teaching Program
| 1. It is recommended
that you start at Module 3. |
| 2. You will need to click on "NEXT
STEP" to progress through the tutorial. |
| 3. The training program
has 17 discreet modules - not all modules need to be used |
| 4. It takes
about 30 minutes to run through the most pertinent modules (modules
3 to 12) |
| 5.
You can leave modules 14 to 16 for later perusal after you become
more familiar with Serko |
| 6. The following modules are not
relevant to the Monash Serko installation - |
| Modules 1 & 2: |
Introductory information only - can be skipped |
| Module 13: |
Monash
has not invoked the authorisation process in Serko |
| Module 17: |
Monash
does not have the "Custom Booking" icon / option installed |
| 7. Other
hints / notes on using the Self-Teaching tool: |
| |
-
Monash does not require selection
of authoriser or ticketer but you will have to select a Voyager consultant
who will ticket the bookings you make;
-
Monash does not require a "Reason for Travel";
-
Monash does not require input
of a Purchase Order number;
-
To speed up access to airfares for Qantas and Virgin Blue then JetStar
is not initially displayed. You need to click on the the "Break
Policy" button and do another search if you want to view JetStar
flights ( NB
. this does not formally break university policy as JetStar can
be used);
-
Monash's
official car provider is Thrifty and our negotiated rates are displayed
in Serko.
